ACES (Athletes Committed to Educating Students) is an after-school program working to alleviate the achievement gap in the Twin Cities, which disproportionately affects students of color and students living below the poverty line. ACES works with 4th-8th graders and implements a sports-themed and math-centric curriculum at public schools and Boys and Girls Clubs across the Twin Cities in a before-school and after-school setting. In the 2015-2016 school year, ACES helped deliver programming to over 700 students, helping ensure that all learners are equipped for success, regardless of background!
During the 2015-2016 school year, ACES implemented a new student assessment and data collection system. The Improve Group is thrilled to take part in this new effort as part of our pro bono program. Our team will be working directly with ACES program staff to generate best practices, systems, and applications for a new suite of data and assessment software. This will help ACES to streamline student data collection and results-oriented reporting to funders with an eye towards sustainability for 2016-2017 and beyond. By partnering with The Improve Group, ACES will emerge even more nimble in its ability to assess its impact on students and hone programming and curriculum for greater student achievement!
Our pro bono capacity is currently filled, however we will be awarding more projects as our time opens up. If you are interested in receiving our pro bono services in the future, click here to apply.
