As an evaluation firm and a Minnesota Public Benefit Corporation, The Improve Group is dedicated to understanding and strengthening our impact. That’s why we’re so excited to share with you our 2019 Public Benefit Impact report! It describes the important strides we’ve made over the past year toward our vision of a more resilient, equitable, and thriving world.

Impact measurement and reporting can be an essential accountability and transparency tool for organizations working toward a social impact or greater good. We examined our impact through three lenses: internal, client relationships, and our communities:

Internal: Starting in our own house, we identified internal systems and processes that support our staff – our most powerful asset. This includes ongoing dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion; parity in pay between genders; and significant training opportunities.

Client relationships: Our consulting services help mission-driven organizations improve impacts for their customers and participants, and our products are designed to be inclusive of underserved populations. Last year, we were proud to partner with nonprofits on 53 projects and public entities on 45 projects.

Our Communities: We collaborated with clients on projects that had impacts in all the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but our main areas of impact fell under: Good Health and Wellbeing; Quality Education; Gender Equality; and Reduced Inequality.

Psst—You may notice that this year’s report looks a little different than the one we submitted last year. We tried a new approach: You can learn more about it in our recently released Impact Reporting Tip Series! Have your own tip, or a question about how to raise the bar for your annual report? We’d love to hear from you.
