The International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD), is the result of a collaborative between Columbia University’s Earth Institute, the Global Association of MDP, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network to foster solutions to poverty and promote sustainable development. Themed "The World in 2050: Looking Ahead for Sustainable Development," this year's conference will bring together hundreds of professionals from the private sector, academia, government, and civil society, along with students from the world’s top universities.

The Improve Group's Research Analyst, Kamaladevy Sivalingam, will be presenting at this year's conference on her research on Cubing gold-mining in Choco Colombia in ways that could benefit people of low-income who live in the area, or depend on the practice of mining for their livelihoods. Her presentation will contribute to ICSD's focus on sustainable development in the Amazon Basin of South America.
